Argh!!!! I am such a bad mother to our dog. So this morning I was checking his mouth before I was going to brush his teeth and noticed that part of his back molar tooth was missing. There is a huge break in it and a huge chunk is completely missing. Now I have to take him in to the vet today, which is not one of his happy places, probably more so after his "procedure". And someone is going to be messing with his mouth which he hates it when I look at it and they are going to poke and prod it and possibly worse if they have to drill at it or remove it. I don't know how this dog is going to forgive me after this. Worse thing is that I don't even know when this happened. He has been eating fine, so it must not hurt that bad but he was wincing when I was poking and prodding at it. Now he is hiding under my covers sleeping. Poor Archer.
On to happier news after my previous ranting and raving...
We got invited to eat Thanksgiving dinner at a family's home. Beka (since we have the same name it is nice that she like to go by Beka and me Becky) and Basil are the same age as Matt and I and they have 4 kids, one of them is in my primary class, and have been married for 10 years. She was married at 16. It is nice that they are the same age as us but 10 years married. I can't even imagine being married at 16 in high school. So weird. Well they are from UT and have no fam out here so it will be fun. We are going to have a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimming and just split who is making what. So far I am making the Honey Baked Ham, yum, potatoes, yummy, bringing the greens, yummier, and a streusel pumpkin pie, yummiest! She wants to fry the turkey, not sure what that means but I do know that doing that is one of the largest risks for fire at Thanksgiving, the rolls, stuffing, and not sure what else she is doing. It will be good none the less. Anyhew that's all at this end of the US. Stay tuned at the same Allen channel for more to come.

Well Archer and I just got back from the vet. He has a lateral tooth fracture. Instead of a vertical cut on the tooth, just the side chunk of tooth was broken off. There is still a piece of tooth in his gums that they have to put him asleep and go and get it. At that time they will see if they can salvage his whole tooth or remove all of it. It is his left molar tooth that has been damaged. He has his apt for Monday morning and it will take a few days for it to heal. At least I am off all next week from teaching to help him. Starting today I have to give him some antibiotic pills, which I have to force feed because he hates taking pills, and a mouth wash stuff I have to squirt into his mouth on his teeth especially the back molar. He is so mad at me now. Well we'll see how he does for the next few days.

I took Archer to his surgery today. We just got a call from the Dr's office and he did fine during the surgery and they were able to save his tooth. We get him back tonight.
I did a ton of Christmas shopping today. Since we are mailing all the gifts we have to get them quite early and sent out early to make sure they gett there by Christmas. This week since I am not teaching I am decorating the house. I was going to put up the lights on the house, but I think it would be better if Matt was there, just in case he had to call 911 cause I fell off our house. Still trying to figure out how we are going to put lights up and where we, correction, I am going to be putting them. Matt is such a Mr. Grinch about decorating. Anyhew, that's all folks!
So now that winter is quickly approaching we have had to start using our heater because it is getting very cold at night. Well I turned it on the other night and could have sworn that I heard it running at 3am and when I woke up it was freezing in our house. I checked the digital thermostat and it was completly blank. I pushed all the buttons and turned off the breaker power and then back on. Nothing happened. I removed the face plate and nothing. So I located our contractor sup in the subdivision and asked if I had to wait 11 months to report this, inside joke, or if it constituted as an "emergency warranty fix." He said that it was considered a emergency fix and asked that I call the company who installed it. They guy came out yesterday and said he fixed it and the heater was one, current temp inside the house at the time was a balming 55 degrees. 30 minutes after he left the heater died again, go figure. I called him and told him what happened and he said that he thinks that it was the actual circuit board that needed to be replaced but the earliest that he could get one would be this morning. Well he spent 3 hours here today trying to fix it. The new board still did not fix the problem . He ended up swapping our brand new pretty digal thermostat reader for an old ghetto 80's style ugly thing. Well it has now been 30 minutes that he has been gone for and the heater is still working just fine. He said that he will bring a replacement reader next week and to call if there are any problems. Everyone cross your fingers that nothing will happen.
Archer has finally almost completly healed from his "procedure." About a week he was trying to clean all the adhesive glue off his area which caused swelling to the area and I thought that his stiches were going to bust off. Now he just has a scab there and I have to spray this bitter apple stuff on him so that he won't lick at his "boo, boo." He is adjusting very well. He is more of a momma's boy now and won't let me leave a room without him right on my heels. He also is more cuddly than before. The missionaries said that he looks different, and they make fun of him calling him an "it" instead of a boy dog. You can't get good help these days, now Archer is going to have to get therapy to help him cope with the loss of his manhood. (j/k)
Matt returns home today from a business trip to DC but leaves again on Sunday morning for another one to St. Louis for a week. The funny thing is, that I don't remember him telling me that he was going to do a ton of traveling with this new job. He has been gone for at least a week every month since he started. He loves what he does and I am proud him.
I have 16 students now, and a piano teacher in the area called me to tell me that she is giving my info to her students cause she is getting married and moving away. I also have about 6 others still thinking about taking lessons. Everyone says I have a ton of students but it doesn't feel like it. I am having so much fun. For halloween I dressed for my lessons and the kids had a lot of fun with that. I got one pix because we lost our SD disk for our camera. Not sure if I am going to post it or not. It didn't turn out very well. One of my students knew it was me but was so nervous that he couldn't focus during the lesson. That's about all in this corner of the US for us. Can't wait for Thanksgiving, I get my first vacation week from teaching. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. Sorry we can't come home for the holidays this year but maybe in a year or two.
So tomorrow I am going to be the worst dog mother in the world. We are getting Archer our 5 year old puggle fixed tomorrow morning. Why are we doing this at such an old age for him you ask, he has started making a habit of peeing on my curtains and "Shrek" chairs in my brand new living room, where I teach piano, leaving a horrible smell. This is my last resort to try and get Archer more well behaved or Matt wants him gone. I won't let Matt get rid of him but I hope this does the trick. We originally wanted to breed Arch, but we don't want to get another dog.
This weekend Matt and I did a bunch of yard work to our front lawn. We did four steps, filled in any holes where the sod shrunk put some started soil down, fertilized, seeds, then some more started soil to cover the seeds so the birds don't eat all the seeds and it better work or I will be so mad because my back is now killing me.
We should have 3 more neighbors by the end of November. Our little subdivision is getting pretty full. Most of the houses for phase one have their frame work done. Only another 2.5 years of construction left before all the houses should be done.
Well that's about all here.
I love the Fall!!!! This is my second time living on the east coast during fall, with the beautiful leaves changing colors to bright red, yellow and orange. Some of the leaves have started the change but a majority won't be until the end of the month. I also love the beautiful weather as well. Although this week has been seasonably warm but everything else has been so nice. I will have some pictures later this month of the leaves changing.
- Update on how things are going. -
Well Matt was in AZ for a week for military training and was going to be there from September till December but he was sent home early because of his knee injury from over a year ago. Now we have to work with the military to get Matt on some paperwork allowing him to not run for the rest of his military career. Matt has been home for a few weeks now, and it really is nice for him to be home.
I now have 15 students ranging from 5 years old to 55 years old. Teaching has been such a wonderful opportunity for me and I love it. I am so proud of my students as they are progressing very well and fast. I also found a recital location. Our little town, Louisa, has been building an arts center. I just thought that it was for Art art not all fine arts. But they are completing a 200 seat auditorium. They also received a donated Steinway Grand Piano. The auditorium will be completed in April and that is when I was planning on having my first recital. Things are working out so well! Any hew. Hope all is well for you and your family!!
It is official, I have my first 10 students. I made a goal that I would get 10 by September and I have them. I am hoping that by next month I will have another 10, but we will see how that goes. I still have 4 other parents that are deciding but just wanted to give a little update.
Matt and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary this Wednesday. It is kind of crazy that it has already been 5 years. We are looking forward to the next millions of years together!!!
Matt leaves this Thursday for military training back in AZ south of Tucson. He will be gone for 3 months but by the December he will have completed all of his Warrant Officer training and will officially be a warrant officer. YAY. That's about all that is going on in our life.
