Mason Laughing Sound Clip

Mason's cute little laugh! I had to capture it. He is so sweet. Over the past few months his laugh has really changed and developed and this just makes me smile and laugh every time I hear it.

Mason's First Photo Album - DONE

I guess one of the benefits of being a stay at home mom, and only one child means that I can get things accomplished in record time! I just finished Mason's 0-6 month photo album thru Shutterfly. Can I just say, I LOVE YOU SHUTTERFLY!!!! Way easier than back in the old days of printing out pictures, deciding which pictures you want to use, finding a place to stash the rest of the pictures you won't use cause you took a thousand of the same thing. Buying paper, embellishments, scissors, cutters, the album, glue and everything else. Then find the time to assemble said album together. Man, Shutterfly rocks! They already have pre-loaded backgrounds and book styles, and you just upload the pix you want to use and then you can place them or they will even do it for you. And with the customize tool you can change whatever you want! WAY EASIER. Back in the day this would have taken weeks, and this photo book only took me a few days to assemble. Mommy's Cooking = YUM!!!

So it wasn't my cooking at all. He actually likes what I prepare for him as long as it is super smooth, and my first batch of rice cereal wasn't. Today he got his first taste of sweet potatoes. and LOVED IT! Actually demanding more. He just kept sucking it off the spoon and sometimes making it go the opposite direction, see pix below to see where the puree went! Anyhew I just had to take some pix because he was just covered with orange stuff all over his cute little face!

How Feeding Should Be

Less muss less fuss! I finally caved and got some real food for Mace to try, not homemade which he liked much much much much better! He ate the whole thing. It is still rice cereal but it is store bought! I love this kid.

6 Months

Mason, my sweet little Mason. He has a temper like his mother and the lungs to boot, has reached his mid year point of his first year. It really has gone by quickly but I did have great distractions with the holidays.

Mason, you are cooing all the time and have started to buzz your lips like your Mommy. You are grabbing everything in your sight and stick it straight in your mouth. You love to pull Mommy's long hair and hold it when she is carrying you like a stabilizing rope.  You can drink some water out of a cup and you dislike your Mother's cooking. I went out of my way to grind up rice for your for your first meal and you turned your nose up at it and threw the whole thing up. I pull out the box of organic rice cereal and your gobbled the thing up like it was the best thing on the world, well second best to Mommy!

You are rolling over from belly to back all the time. You are trying to lift your big belly off the ground and are getting ready to start crawling. You love watching the computer especially if Daddy is on there and love hearing Skype dial because it gets your attention every time. You enjoy watching TV with Mommy. Oh and you can stay sitting up on your own almost all the time now.

You have one tooth that is visible and 3 more that that are about to come in. You weigh 18 pounds 2.5 ounces and are 26 inches tall. You are growing too fast.

I am so thankful that you are part of our family and Daddy is too. We just wish he was here to get to "know" you. That will come true in just a few short 6 months. He will be home by your birthday and we are so happy for that. Happy 6 months baby boy!

Solid Food Adventure!

Oh my lanta! This kid did not enjoy my cooking. Or maybe he just didn't enjoy the food. Who knows but man he sure did put up a fight! So below is the video of his first bites ever of food. I made homemade rice cereal. I will admit it is bland but that is what the recipe calls for. It is not straight liquid like he is used to but man he sure did not like it. After the 2nd video he proceeded to spit it up into his bib, and then about an hour later more of it came up. We will try again later but he did not enjoy it one bit! Oh and sorry that it is sideways, but you still get the picture even if you close your eyes! You might just want to turn down the volume a bit on your speakers so that he doesn't blow them out. Just a warning.

Flips For Fun

Mason is going to be 6 months old this week. For a nice surprise, Mason has decided to entertain me this evening by flipping over every time I put him on his belly! It is only 1 way that he is flipping, always rolling on his left side, but he is rolling! I captured it on my phone for future's sake and for Daddy to see as well. He is also starting to lift his belly off the ground when on his belly too, so I think crawling is in the near future for this little guy! So here they are, and I had to do both the second one for the razz he does at the end! ENJOY!

It Is What It Is

6 months in and 6 months to go until Matt comes home. I don't think he will be coming home early at this point. Just the vibe that I am getting when I speak to him and I'm just not feeling it that he will be home soon. It sucks! It really does. I miss my best friend. I wish he were here to get to know our amazing kid and get splashed by him in the bath. Yesterday, Mace and I went to Bertucci's, Matt's fav restaurant out here, for Matt's birthday. It would just be really nice for Matt to come home to be a family of 3. It looks like he will be there until July though. I just keep praying for the strength to get thru this time without him here. Anyhew I just wanted to let everyone know. Matt is one of the 15,000 stuck in Kuwait. I am thankful for having Mace here because I don't know how I would have done this if Mace wasn't here. Thanks for all of your support.

On another happier note. Mace will be 6 months old next week. I am so excited to write about that and how much he has grown and changed in the last month and overall in the last 6 months. I love Mace so much. He is such an amazing little guy. I love being able to stay home with him all day long and I am so thankful that I have the means and opportunity to be a stay at home mom. I love and miss my students but I am so thankful to be able to have this chance to dedicate my life and time for my child. I love it so much!!!

Just For Fun

I took some pix of Mace tonight just for fun! He is almost 6 months old and well I wanted to get some more pix of him before he was half a year old! We were just chillin' in front of the fireplace watching Wheel Of Fortune, which Mace loves to watch because I think of all the clapping. He was such a great sport smiling for almost every pix, there were 2 that the flash took him by surprise and well he just gave his confused face. Still cute though by the way. Anyhew, here are some pix of my cute little boy!
