Plants on Steroids

I have been so impressed with my garden this year! I don't know if it was the warm winter, or the late rain we got this year or what, but my plants are going crazy this year! CRAZY BIG!!! My butterfly bush on the side of the house in particular has never been this robust and beautiful! I can smell the flowers all the way at my front door. My butterfly garden at the front of the house has completely filled in the entire area and I am so excited for the flowers and how many flowers I am going to be getting. Anyhew here are some pix of my garden.

Makes Me Smile

I love having a very entertaining baby to make me smile when my day or the past few days have not been going very well. Sat the air conditioning died on me. Found out that my home warranty people would not let me use a guy that I already know and trust so I have to use another company. Well the company stood me up last night and I didn't find out that they were canceling until an hour and a half after they were supposed to be at my house. ARGH! It was so frustrating because the issue is not fixed I just have a temporary fix on it. So hopefully Sat when I have my next appointment they will actually show and fix the problem. Crossing my fingers.

But back to my cute little man! He sure knows how to make me smile and I am so thankful for that. So to put a little smile on your face here are some cute little pix of him.

~Mason got into the water bowl again, so I had fun with his hair!~
 ~Mom, I don't like it~

 ~I love his smile~
~I think his back teeth are coming in because he likes to chew on his thumb~
~Look Grandpa! I am wearing the shirt you got me!~

Mason and His Favs

I wanted to do a post on Mason's fav things right now. He is such a funny kid and such a sweet heart too. Some of the pix are a few weeks old and some are new but enjoy!

~Mason loves to sleep. And has finally accepted sleeping in his crib without putting up a fight. He has a very strict sleeping schedule. If he isn't asleep when he wants to be he let me and everyone around me know how displeased he is with me.~
~Mason loves to smile and laugh and be silly~
~Mason loves Archer. He really does. He loves to pick on him, chase him, and bite him. (poor dog.) He has been trying to say Archer's name and will howl like Archer. Also he started picking things up off the floor with his mouth and carrying them around with his mouth. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.~
~Mason loves Wheel of Fortune! LOVES LOVES LOVES IT! He can be cranky and upset and crying and just crazy but when he hears the applause and the dinging he stops acting crazy and crawls up to the TV as fast as he can to watch. It is part of our night time routine.~

~He loves to make a mess and play with his toys all day long!~
~Mason loves to feed himself! He doesn't want any more help and will now close his mouth to me if I try to help out with these finger foods. He also now loves to eat carrots and can't get enough of them.

So there we have it. Some of his favs right now. What a cute little sweet baby boy who is growing up way too!

10 Months

Mason, 10 months, CRAZY! Mason has now been out of me longer than he was in. And only just a little longer until Daddy comes home. I can't believe that we have almost made it. Just a little longer and that is all.

Mason you want to walk. You are trying. I am praying that you don't. Nothing against you or anything, but I really want Matt to help me with the whole walking thing. So that Matt is here for a big "first" thing. Also everyone keeps telling me that once they walk they don't stop. Mason has the rest of his life to walk so crawling now is just fine by me.

Mason is sleeping so well at night. Most nights now. I really enjoy my 8pm quiet time now. The dog and the kid are both asleep upstairs and I feel like I get a little bit of my sanity back at night. I love it. I love Mason and soon we will be a family of 3 when Daddy comes home!

Happy Mother's Day To Me!!!

Happy, Happy, Happy Mother's Day to ME!!! Last year was like a warm up for this year since I was still pregnant. I knew I was going to be a mom and I was so excited but this year, I AM A MOM! And most days I think I am rocking it. Other days, well let's just say there is room for improvement. I am trying everyday to be the best I can be. I love Mason and I have never had so much fun in my life. Yes, being a mom is hard and it sucks sometimes when you are so tired you don't know how you are going to make it thru the day because you got 4 hours of interrupted rest last night, but guess what, you do it, because your kid needs you. Also being a single mother right now isn't the most fun in the world but I cherish this time when it is just me and Mason. I get to snuggle with him as much as I want. I don't have to share. I will never get this opportunity again because with the next kid I will have Mason wanting me and won't get this alone snuggle quiet time. I love it. I love being a mom. It is what I always thought it would be and so much better. The love I have every morning when I wake up is indescribable. I can't believe how much my heart has grown to accommodate this little guy in my life! Thank you Heavenly Father for entrusting me with this sweet little soul that you have blessed me with. Thank you Matt for being there for me when I need you on Skype or chat to let me vent, cry or just hear from you that I really am doing a good job and not messing everything up. You are my rock that I lean on for support and you do a wonderful job at it! And thank you Mason. You made me a Mommy, your Mommy. I will love you for the rest of eternity and am so thankful that you are apart of our family. You will know everyday of your life how special you are and how much I love you.

Mason Walking, with a little help

Mason started walking this morning pushing his walker. This is the first time I really have seen him walk walk. He has always been in the walker when he would but it wouldn't really be walking it was more like pushing himself. But today, yep he walked. Kind of scary kind of happy. I really was hoping that he would wait to walk until Daddy got home in July but I don't think that that is going to happen now. I have been thinking he was going to be walking by himself by 11 months, and hoping that it wouldn't really happen but it probably will now. So here you go Daddy, a first you get to see along with me, well this is the second time he did it but still pretty close! (Well first time pushing it in the kitchen, the first time was pushing it on the slate in the fam room but it was leaving marks on the slate and I didn't want it to hurt the slate so I moved it to the kitchen.)

My New Journey...

To a new me! I have finally decided that enough is enough. I am tired of being addicted to sweets and goodies, even though I love them dearly, and to being over weight. I want to be around as long as possible for Mace and any other little ankle bitters that could join our family. I lost all that weight before and when I got pregnant I sadly gained it back, plus some because I was pregnant plus I had all that built up muscle too. So I have a lot to work on.

I have finally seeked out help. Someone that will make a difference. I have a nutritionist now. She is amazing and has helped out my cousins and Aunt change their lives too.

I started last week. I had a few days in a row of constant headaches because I have finally cut sugar cold turkey. I have had temptations but my will power won out and I haven't cheated once. I know it has only been a week but the first week is the hardest, right? I have also already had some changes since last week. I feel better, I don't hurt all the time and I have dropped weight already which is great.

So to my new journey to a new me. A healthy new me who eats and exercises and is happy beyond measure because I finally will have everything I have ever wanted. Good luck to myself and I can totally do this because I deserve this!

My Garden

My mother in law has requested to see pix of my garden. It is currently in early growth stages but I try to have something blooming at any given time from early spring until the end of fall. I am so proud that I have finally gotten it somewhat figured out! I love my garden and I have spent many man hours planning working and doing the up keep on it. Last year while pregnant it went a little on the wayside as I couldn't bend over very well but this year I am back in the swing of things. I even got a raspberry plant. So I now grow blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. Also I am trying my veggie garden different this year and I planted summer squash, eggplant, bell peppers, tomatoes, watermelon, cantalope, carrots, cilantro, basil, green beans. I think that is it. I planted most of it by seed and if it doesn't come up in 2 more weeks than I will plant actual plants but I have high hopes for it.

My fav part of my yard is my butterfly garden in the front yard in front of my living room. I enjoy sitting in my living room and looking out the window to the beautiful flowers and the humming birds and butterflies that pay my garden a visit. For the first time since I started it, it has finally filled out the entire area. Which means that I am going to have to crop it back from now on but it is going to be filled with yellow, purple, pink, blue and green flowers at the end of summer and I am soooooo excited to see what it looks like. So here are the pix of my garden!

My Garden Baby

Today I took Mace out to enjoy the sunshine and get to feel what grass is like. He loved it! He just sat on the grass and enjoyed pulling at the grass and trying to eat it. He did eat a little. I tried to fish it out but he fought me on it and well, if he really wanted to eat it he did. I just don't understand why he would eat grass and not potatoes or egg yolks. Silly boy! Anyhew I ran inside and grabbed my camera to get some great pix of him.
