Reflections Of Christ

For those of you who weren't able to see this at the Mesa Temple, there is a new photo exihibit at the visitor center called Reflections of Christ. They used a slideshow as a publicity shot for the Easter Pageant. Here is a link to another blog which has the slideshow available for viewing. It is amazing. Some very cool things besides all the beautiful pix taken is that all the pix were taken in Southern AZ and Rocky Point, Mex. The singer, who is singing "Come Thou Fount" is Freddie Ashby, an old family friend of my family. I had a major crush on his younger brother Andy growing up. Also my best friend Elizabeth who was an Angel in this years Easter Pageant knows the person who depicted Judah. Pretty nifty huh. So enjoy viewing this beautiful depiction of of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Pix

So here is a pix of our ceiling where I had the nasty florscent light removed and here is my patch job where I spackled and painted. You can't even see where I did the work. Go Me. I'll post more pix when we put the track lighting in. I don't have a before pix that actually shows the light but is was nasty.

Here's Your Sign!

This post is LDS Friendly with it's own filthy filter attached.

_______________________________________________________. Ok, everyone this space is open for you to fill with your own choice word as my are too vile to repeat to my kind hearted innocent friends and family. Guess what everyone, he's commin' home, ________ (blank) AGAIN. For the same _______ issue. So either this is Heavenly Father way of saying, " Heeeere's your sign" or I'm just not meant to be a military wife. Well either way we talked about this before he left that if for some freaky reason he got sent home, AGAIN that he will not be going back and refuses to be demoted to an enlisted person, no offense to them but once your an officer it's kind of hard to be the little guy again. So we wash our hands of this vile crappy situation which has caused us both much pain and anguish, and not to forget MONEY. Too bad we can't be like all the other people out there who sue for getting a splinter at a restaurant, and sue the military for pain and suffering, which we would never have to work again after we WON! So as much as I am thankful for the military people and what they do, this whole bureaucratic crap truly STINKS. So he is getting sent home because he doesn't have the "proper" paper work. We had what we thought was correct but the person didn't give Matt the full details on what level of paper work he needed. So now here we go with trying to get out of his commission. This should only take about 1 year to do, if we are lucky. So that is that. If you would like the unedited version, well there's not one as Matt's ears are the only lucky recipients to receive those choice words. Oh well.

YAY!!

So it's time to bring out my old spanish books from my failed attempts at learing spanish, to learn easy phrases like: where's the bathroom, how much, any cheeper, and other things that are important to know when going to MEXICO!!! That's right Matt and I and my fam are all going on a Mexican Riviera Cruise on the DISNEY CRUISE LINE! LOVE IT! So, I'm going to try to learn a little spanish, and get my butt in shape so I can feel comfy wearing a bathing suit! I also put a counter at the bottom of the page.

Safe and Sound

Just wanted to let all of you know that Matt has made it safely across country and is starting his class today. ( fingers crossed for at least another week that he will be able to stay) So hopefully he will be there for the whole 3 months and be done with it all.

Another thing. So now that Matt is away the wife will play. I employed a friends husband to take down this nasty florscent light that was in our kitchen and to fix the light in the bathroom that Matt had on his "honey do list" that didn't get done before he left. So I have light in the bathroom, yay! and I took down this nasty light in the kitchen, I will replace it with some very nice modern looking track lighting. But along with that Brian, the hubby, taught me how to spackle in the holes so today I will finish the job of sanding down the spackle and paining over the areas to make it look like there was nothing there. Next step, picking wall color to start painting the house. I can't wait to surprise Matt with all the changes when he gets home. (imangine an evil laugh, cause he thinks that the house is perfect since it is brand new, but white wall everywhere, I don't think so.)

Here We Go Again!

Well for the 4th time since last June Matt is driving cross country again. He is hopefully going to be staying there this time longer than a week. (Last Sept. when he left for AZ he was there for only a week and got sent home because of his knee injury and he didn't have the "correct" paperwork to excuse him from doing his physical fitness tests.) So after 6 months almost to the day and with the "correct" paperwork in hand he is on his way back to finally finish his military training to become an...(sound trumpet fanfare music) Official Warrant Officer 1, and then in June or shorthly thereafter he will be automatically promoted to Warrant Officer 2 rank. (que thunderous applause from all). Anyways for next 4 days he will be driving his truck which hopefully will make it there in one piece without any problems, so if you could be so kind to think of him and his safety while driving, we would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Sniffling, Sneezing, And Caughing... Oh my

So why is it than whenever everything seems to be going well and you have a weekend planned for like 2 weeks that everything has to go bad. So Matt and I had been planning on going to the Washington D.C. Temple this past Saturday, and what happens, I am sick, sick, sick. Well we still went anyways just didn't do a session inside. We at least got to see the outside and the visitor center. It was still as pretty as ever.

We also did get to go to Pei Wei's in Fairfax, yummo! Only the best food in the world and something that both Matt and I have been craving for months. That's about all that is going on in this part of the world. Hope all is well with you and your fam!
