Bad Mother

So tomorrow I am going to be the worst dog mother in the world. We are getting Archer our 5 year old puggle fixed tomorrow morning. Why are we doing this at such an old age for him you ask, he has started making a habit of peeing on my curtains and "Shrek" chairs in my brand new living room, where I teach piano, leaving a horrible smell. This is my last resort to try and get Archer more well behaved or Matt wants him gone. I won't let Matt get rid of him but I hope this does the trick. We originally wanted to breed Arch, but we don't want to get another dog.

This weekend Matt and I did a bunch of yard work to our front lawn. We did four steps, filled in any holes where the sod shrunk put some started soil down, fertilized, seeds, then some more started soil to cover the seeds so the birds don't eat all the seeds and it better work or I will be so mad because my back is now killing me.

We should have 3 more neighbors by the end of November. Our little subdivision is getting pretty full. Most of the houses for phase one have their frame work done. Only another 2.5 years of construction left before all the houses should be done.

Ich liebe die Jahreszeit Herbst!!!!

I love the Fall!!!! This is my second time living on the east coast during fall, with the beautiful leaves changing colors to bright red, yellow and orange. Some of the leaves have started the change but a majority won't be until the end of the month. I also love the beautiful weather as well. Although this week has been seasonably warm but everything else has been so nice. I will have some pictures later this month of the leaves changing.

- Update on how things are going. -

Well Matt was in AZ for a week for military training and was going to be there from September till December but he was sent home early because of his knee injury from over a year ago. Now we have to work with the military to get Matt on some paperwork allowing him to not run for the rest of his military career. Matt has been home for a few weeks now, and it really is nice for him to be home.

I now have 15 students ranging from 5 years old to 55 years old. Teaching has been such a wonderful opportunity for me and I love it. I am so proud of my students as they are progressing very well and fast. I also found a recital location. Our little town, Louisa, has been building an arts center. I just thought that it was for Art art not all fine arts. But they are completing a 200 seat auditorium. They also received a donated Steinway Grand Piano. The auditorium will be completed in April and that is when I was planning on having my first recital. Things are working out so well! Any hew. Hope all is well for you and your family!!

---Update---

It is official, I have my first 10 students. I made a goal that I would get 10 by September and I have them. I am hoping that by next month I will have another 10, but we will see how that goes. I still have 4 other parents that are deciding but just wanted to give a little update.

Matt and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary this Wednesday. It is kind of crazy that it has already been 5 years. We are looking forward to the next millions of years together!!!

Matt leaves this Thursday for military training back in AZ south of Tucson. He will be gone for 3 months but by the December he will have completed all of his Warrant Officer training and will officially be a warrant officer. YAY. That's about all that is going on in our life.

I'm Matthew Allen. I grew up in a bunch of different places., Chihuahua, Mexico, Silver City, New Mexico and Gilbert, Arizona. I just graduated from Northern Arizona University with my Bachelor of Arts and Science degree in Geography. I currently work with a government agency. My name is Becky Birchett Allen. I am 25 years old, I will be 26 in December. I grew up in Tempe, Arizona and I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelors of Arts Degree In Music for Horn. I have performed with 2 symphonies, the Flagstaff Symphony and the Charlottesville Symphony. I currently do not have a job but looking. I am also trying to build up a piano studio and a horn studio, but being in such a small town it can be difficult to find students. I am trying to spread my name around though to the local schools. About Us

We just moved to small town Louisa, VA in June and bought our first home. (YEA!!!)

And just after 3 weeks we have to use our home owners insurance because a super cell aka small twister flew through here and caused some exterior damage to our brand new house! HOW RUDE!!! Archer and I survived in the closet scared half to death while Matt was all comfy at work.
We have finally finished unpacking all the boxes (hew) and almost everything is set up and done. Here are the pix!

Anyways, we love our new house and we are sad that it is on the other side of the country from everyone we know but visitors are welcome! Lots of sites to see in the area like a Civil War Cemetary across the street,

DC is only about 2.5 hours away and Norfolk and VA Beach is about 3. There is also an amtrak station in Charlottesville, 40 min away. New York City, 5 hours on the train. Anyways, just thought that I would throw some ideas out on why to come and see us!
